Help us get out the vote in the creative sector!

The most important election in generations!

As many of you know, this November’s election is shaping up to be one of the most historically important in our lifetimes. And if we really want our country, our state and our community to reflect our values we must vote. Decisions are made by those who show up!

This is why, together with Americans for the Arts Action Fund, the Greater Columbus Arts Council and Ohio Citizens for the Arts have created ArtsVote Ohio, a statewide nonpartisan effort to encourage the creative sector and those who support us to get out and vote.

If the past few years have shown us anything it is that our voice matters and absolutely makes a difference! Through our collaborative advocacy efforts, we secured local, state and federal pandemic relief for the creative sector, which helped both arts organizations and artists survive during COVID.

Go beyond voting

There are many things you can do beyond voting—registering voters at events you host, make a curtain speech, assisting at the polls, hosting fundraisers or postcard writing parties, canvassing or doing lit drops for candidates and issues you believe in. Visit this Dropbox for graphics, handouts and other resources to help you share the ArtsVote GOTV. message. But if you do nothing else—please vote and encourage your friends, family and colleagues to do the same. The future of our democracy depends on it.

To register to vote go to the Ohio Secretary of State's office to register online to vote--the deadline to register is Tues. October 11. Use ArtsVoteOhio.org for resources and more information on how to vote, getting involved and promoting your GOTV efforts.
